The part you look through
The frame is what people see. The lens is what you see. We choose it for the prescription and for your day, then cut and fit it in our own workshop.

Five numbers, in plain words
Choose a column to see what it means.
Sphere
The main strength in dioptres. Minus is for short sight, plus for long sight.
Cylinder
Extra strength for astigmatism, when the eye is shaped more like a rugby ball than a football.
Axis
The angle of that astigmatism, from 0 to 180 degrees. Only there if there is a cylinder.
Addition
Extra plus for reading, usually from your forties. Varifocals blend it in at the bottom of the lens.
Pupil distance
Millimetres between your pupils. We measure it so the optical centre of each lens sits in front of the eye.
Spectacle lenses
Prices are per pair and include anti-reflection and a hard coat. We tell you the total before we order anything.

01
Single vision
One strength across the whole lens. For distance, reading or the screen, depending on what you need.
from 90 -
02
Varifocal
Distance at the top, reading at the bottom, everything in between. Fitted to your frame and your posture, measured at the chair.
from 240 -
03
Office lenses
For the desk: a wide middle zone for the screen and a reading zone below. Not for driving.
from 180 -
04
Thinner lenses
High-index material for strong prescriptions, so the lens edge stays slim in a small frame.

Fewer reflections, clearer eyes in photos. Included with every lens.
- 02
Hard coat
Protects against scratches. Included.
- 03
Photochromic
Darkens outside, clears indoors. From 70.
- 04
Tints
Any shade, from a soft fashion tint to full sunglasses. From 40.
Contact lenses
Fitted on the eye, checked a week later
Daily
A fresh pair every morning, nothing to clean. The easiest start.
Monthly
Cheaper over a year, needs a cleaning routine. Good for every-day wearers.
Toric
For astigmatism. Weighted so the lens stays at the right angle.
Multifocal
Reading and distance in one lens, for wearers over about 45.
